The only hotel I ever found worldwide that has a good and *original* (not standard and boring) breakfast is hotel Bazar in Rotterdam, and no staring there because it’s also a public cafe. In cafes apparently people like to talk with their friends and it’s considered more rude to stare at strangers for a long time (which it is of course). But again it is probably because they are so bored with their travel mates. Really annoying, especially when you are not a morning person. I hardly ever experience anyone staring for a long time in a normal cafe and definitely not *all* the guest there *all* staring at other people like they do in hotels, checking out what food they are taking, what they are wearing, how they are sitting down, etc. In my experience a lot of unashamed staring goes on in hotel breakfast areas. Well like you say, that is *your* personal preference, clearly it was not the OP’s, or the whole world’s. ![]()
